If you find yourself alone, fearful
that you might be having a heart attack, you need to cough and
then take a deep breath.
Do this repeatedly until the chest pain subsides and
you can do more.
You should also chew an aspirin (unless you’re allergic
to aspirin, of course) and take nitroglycerine if you have a
cardiac history.
And, immediately call 911 and tell them you may be
having a heart attack and give them your exact
location.
I hope you’ll pass this important
e-letter along to your family and friends. This information
could, quite literally, save their
lives.
How best to
reach us
We have two incoming lines and two lines for
outgoing calls.
The main incoming line is 610-891-1718. If that number is
busy, your call automatically “rolls over” to a second
incoming line. If
you see that we’ve called you from any other number, please
don’t phone back on that number, since those numbers don’t
always ring through.
Please remember to use the main 610-891-1718
number.
Thanks.
Smiles for Life
wrap-up
Smiles for Life 2007 ended on June 30. I’m happy to report
that my office raised
$7150.
My thanks go to my team for all the time and energy
they gave to this cause, to Discus Dental for donating
whitening materials, and to Leo DentaLab for making many of
the bleaching trays we used.
Half of the monies we raised will be
distributed to over 200 children’s causes through Garth
Brooks’ Teammates for Kids
Foundation. The
other half will stay right in the neighborhood and go to
Media’s Hometown Senior Center. As always, every penny
goes to charity.
Tooth Fairy of
the Future
Used to be, the
“tooth fairy” left a quarter under the pillow of a youngster
losing a baby tooth.
But now Babytooth Technologies, Inc.
is making it possible for that baby tooth to potentially
rescue its owner from hereditary, acquired and degenerative
illnesses, years later, in adulthood. Thanks to research
conducted by Dr. Sontag Shi, a pediatric dentist, a startling
discovery was made: living baby teeth contain viable stem
cells with the ability to form nerve, bone, and cartilage
cells. These SHED cells (Stem cells from Human Exfoliated
Deciduous Teeth) offer the future potential to treat severe
illnesses including Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s diseases,
diabetes, heart disease, and spinal cord injury.
Located in the Green Mountains of
Vermont, Babytooth Technologies, Inc. is the first company in
the nation to provide preservation services for these unique
SHED cells for parents who wish to store viable baby teeth.
FDA registered, with over 15 years of life science
preservation experience, the laboratory is
exceptionally qualified to
preserve fragile,
precious SHED cells.
More information is available via
their website, www.BabytoothUSA.com, or by calling
1-877-736-0508.
Who ever would have guessed the tooth
fairy had plans for the future?
IMPORTANT! To remain viable
(alive enough) to yield stem cells, a baby tooth must be
treated with special care the moment it is
removed from the mouth:
• Contact and arrangement must be made
with Babytooth Technologies prior to loss of the baby
tooth.
• Follow the directions in the
Cryo-Tooth™ kit to collect and pack baby's tooth for delivery,
inform Babytooth that the tooth is on the way and follow
overnight shipping instructions.
• Under normal circumstances the cell
life of a tooth is completely dead within 30 minutes of being
removed from its socket. But the Babytooth hypothermic
transport system provides adequate nourishment to sustain a
tooth for over 72 hours.

The Dalai
Lama’s wisdom
? Take into account that
great love and great achievements involve great
risk.
? When you lose, don’t
lose the lesson.
? Follow the three
Rs:
Respect for self
Respect for others
Responsibility for all your
actions.
? Remember that not getting what you
want is sometimes a wonderful stroke of
luck.
? Learn the rules so you
know how to break them properly.
? Don’t let a little dispute injure a
great relationship.
? When you realize
you’ve made a mistake, take immediate steps to correct
it.
? Spend some time alone
every day.
? Open your arms to
change, but don’t let go of your values.
? Remember that silence
is some-times the best answer.
? Live a good, honorable
life. Then, when
you get older and think back, you’ll be able to enjoy it a
second time.
? A loving atmosphere in
your home is the foundation for your
life.
? In disagreements with
loved ones, deal only with the current situation. Don’t bring up the
past.
? Share your
knowledge. It is
a way to achieve immortality.
? Be gentle with the
earth.
? Once a year, go
someplace you’ve never been before.
? Remember that the best
relationship is one in which your love for each other exceeds
your need for each other.
? Judge your success by
what you had to give up in order to get
it.
? Approach love and
cooking with reckless abandon.
I’d like to add a personal note to the
above: be as
quick to compliment those around you when they do something
well as you are to point out when they do something
wrong. I’m
spending my life trying to get better at
this.
